Izzy and Santa...

I took Izzy to see Santa at Petsmart today. She was not to sure about him but finally she looked at the camera and we got two really cute pictures.

They let anyone take a picture with Santa for $10 and $5 of that goes to homeless pets. You get two digital prints and picture frame. I think next year we may just have to go back with the boys and Izzy it was a lot less chaotic than the mall and a cost a lot less. Sorry the picture is poor quality it is a picture of a picture since my scanner will not work. 

Miss Us?

Hey Y'all! Did you miss us? I know you missed Izzy's sweet face, right? We took a blogging vacation this summer but we are back. Things have been busy around here and we had a wonderful summer. I went on a ladies retreat, we celebrated our anniversary, and  I headed south for a beach vacation just to name a few things that went on. This summer was also filled with a lot of work. Summer is coming to a close this week as Bob resumes classes at Southeastern Seminary. He has another full load so please pray for him as he begins this semester. I really wish it would cool off here it has been hot! Has it been hot where you are? I am so excited about the things going on in our life right now. We are trying to settle in to the back to school routine which is always a little crazy and I happy to be blogging again. I really missed the blogging world the past few months. On this happy update there is also a sadness. A family very close to us is dealing with tragedy. Last month they delt with the death of one set of parents and a month to the day they are dealing with another. Our hearts are broken for them and we ask that you please lift up the Miller family. We know God is the great comforter and although we do not understand He is still on the throne and by our side.

Enjoying Home..

We are in Georgia and loving every moment. We are soaking up every moment we can with our family and friends! Izzy is enjoying everyone too! (that is her with my sister in the picture above) I only hate this trip is so short! Well it is late and we have another jam packed day tomorrow so goodnight y'all!

I love EASTER! Today we celebrate the RISEN Lord! I am so thankful for the gift of salvation though I do not deserve it! I have been singing His praises all day! Especially the song Alive Forever by Travis Cottrell.

I just can't stop smiling, His sacrifice gives hope to those who have no hope! Sin and Death have no victory, Hallalujah!! Today has been wonderful! We spent the morning worshiping at New Covenant Fellowship Church. Worship was followed by a wonderful lunch at our pastor's house with a few other families from church. It was a great time of fellowship. Tonight we are having friends over. It has been such a blessed Easter.

Wonderful Wednesday...

I love that most Wednesday's that my sweet husband and I are both off work. Today Bob had class till three so I slept in, not as late a yesterday, till about ten. Honestly not much happened today. Izzy and I went for our usual walk and then I went to my WW's meeting for my week two weigh in, which I lost 4.8 pounds this week! (I am so excited) Then when Bob got home we watched "Couples Retreat", that I had rented from the RedBox. It was funny, we hardly ever watch movies together so that was nice. Bob took me to Outback for dinner. I am so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man, he spoils me! It was a delicious dinner and a nice break from cooking. Overall it has been a great night with my hubby. Izzy has been a little jealous. Anytime we show affection towards each other she tries to insert her self between us. It is actually quite funny. Poor thing thinks she might be left out and is not getting enough attention.

She is a sweetie though, and needs another haircut! Sorry for such a short post tonight but I am going to enjoy the rest of this wonderful night with my hubby!

A nice day for a walk....

Bob and I were both off work today and he is on spring break so we were able to enjoy the day together. It was nice. We slept in and Bob grilled some hot dogs for lunch. Mostly we lounged today but we did go for a walk. Izzy is getting really good walking on a leash with out dragging her feet or pulling on it. It was chilly but we had a fun time. Izzy can not figured out all the geese that live in our neighborhood.

Of course the geese followed us. We were on the deck and they thought we had food. Look at them coming in for a landing.

They are pretty, even though they are annoying sometimes.

Well it has been a great day. And tonight Jake makes his choice on The Bachelor. I hope he chooses Tenley but I have a bad feeling he will choose Vienna, ugh.

Sunday Night with the McIntyres

We had a wonderful day today. It started with a wonderful morning of worship at New Covenant Fellowship followed by a great lunch. Tonight we had the McIntyre's over for dinner. I made buffalo chicken pizza and Pioneer Woman's chocolate sheet cake.

Josh and Jess loved the pizza, but nothing compares to the cake's amazingness (yes I know that is not a word but there is just not words to tell you how good this cake is). I love this sheet cake!

Pioneer Woman has a perfect recipe. I love recipes from scratch. You must try it. Be on the lookout for the recipe on my cooking blog this week! We had a great time of fellowship and Izzy was so excited to have friends to play with. She loves Josh and Jess!

It was a great night. I just love nights like tonight.

Happy Saturday Y'all!

lazy day...

I had to work Sunday and Monday and the ER was BUSY. Let me be the first to tell you twelve hour shifts are LONG and can be very tiring especially when you are on your feet all day and seem like at times are running 90 to nothing. Yesterday it did not help that during the terribly busy Monday I had a headache throughout part of my shift. Then I got home and even though I was extremely tired I could not sleep well, which was miserable (don't you hate that). So needless to say today has been a very lazy day. I slept in while Bob wrote a paper before work. I have not felt well today. I am not sure if it is because I am still tired or what, who knows. Mostly Izzy and I have been hanging out on the couch watching the olympics, reading, and napping. I did get a chance to catch up with last night's Women Tell All Bachelor episode. (I am so thankful for HULU.com) Oh how I hope the rumors aren't true and that Jake chooses Tenley. I even think I would be ok if he pulled a Jason Mesnick and changed his mind afterwards. We will see next week.

Well I am back to work tomorrow, then tackling the NC DMV Licenses plate office Thursday.
As for tonight probably a little more reading and snuggling with Mr Wonderful when he gets home from work.

The Start of Something New...

Today I started my first official sewing project I am so excited! I am learning, it also is taking lots of patience but so far I love it! I also adore my new sewing machine it is so easy to use, the perfect birthday present!

Miss Izzy got a haircut, isn't she a cutie. I was not really happy with the job the groomer did they didn't trim her face really well and other things so I am looking for a new groomer. If you know of any in the Raleigh/Durham/Cary area let me know.

Nap Time...

Izzy is adorable she does the cutest things. When she is tired she always tries to find the nearest blanket to cuddle up and sleep. Well the other night when we were cooking dinner Izzy decided she would take a nap but her blanket was not on the floor so she improvised. She pulled part of the blanket out of the blanket basket and took her nap.

She is the cutest. The past two days were crazy at work! Happily, I was off today but go back to work tomorrow. I am excited that I have 5 days off in a row starting Friday which means more time with Mr. Wonderful and Izzy!

Relaxing Wednesday!

Today has been a fantastic day. My hubby and I both happened to be off work today which was wonderful, it was so nice to spend the day with him! My sweet hubby let me sleep in late (since I didn't get home from work till 3:45 am). He got up early to play with Izzy and take her to the groomer. Then tonight he took me to dinner at Olive Garden! He is fabulous! Izzy got a puppy trim today and came home with the cutest bows in her hair I am so surprised they are still in her hair! The Lord has been so good to us and we are very blessed.
