Weekend Excitement...

I am so excited about this weekend and not for the same reason as most people. This weekend is exciting due to Memorial Day. However even better this weekend I will celebrate a year of marriage to my sweet husband! I am so blessed. Sunday is the day and I can not believe it. Time has truly flown by! After 7pm tomorrow (when we both get off work) it is officially anniversary weekend! So needless to say I am ready for the weekend!

More for Home....

I am way lat on this post but things have been busy around here. A few weeks ago Bob and I had the opportunity to go home to visit with family and friends as well as celebrate Jamey's marriage. I posted a sneak peak from our trip right before our move but I wanted to show you a few other pictures from that trip! So here they are.

Bob and I stopped outside of Atlanta so I could meet one of my best friends little girl. This precious little girl is Logan, isn't she a doll!
This is us with Logan, Izzy loved her
This is Logan's mom Victoria, we have been friends since childhood. It was such a joy to meet her daughter! We can not let that much time pass again before we see each other again! You should check out her blog it is full of beautiful pictures of Logan (taken by her incredibly talented momma) as well as Logan's story, she is such a fighter who made her arrival to the world 8 weeks early.

We had such a wonderful time and the visit was way too short!

Pure and Holy Passion...

"Give me one pure and holy passion. Give me one magnificent obsession. Give me one glorious ambition for my life, to know and follow hard after You. To grow as Your disciple in the truth. This world is empty, pale, and poor compared to knowing You my Lord. Lead me on and I will run after You."
"One Pure and Holy Passion" Mark Altrogge
These were the words we sang this morning in worship. I was so humbled as I read the words on the page. Before I was able to sing along in worship I went over the words praying them as my heart's cry not just words sung in a service. What a glorious life that would be if I would allow Him to totally consume my life and "I" stop getting in the way. That my desires and passions were His not my sinful and selfish ones. So often we get side tracked and become content with our lives that we no longer  are passionately pursing Lord. Whether it is family, school, kids, or our jobs we get so caught up in our day to day we miss the bigger picture. I want to live a life of passionate pursuit of God and to know Him the way He desires me too. His gospel is of infinite value, a treasure above all others. Nothing here on earth can compare to knowing and pursing Him. He is my life, my all in all. It is my desire to have a pure and holy passion, a glorious ambition, to grow and know my Lord. It is my prayer that the Lord gives you this passion as well. He is so amazing. I am so thankful for His redeeming love. I hope you have had a blessed Sunday today. Please know that you are prayed over sweet blog reader. If I can ever pray for you specifically please do not hesitate to  let me know!

Aiden is here...

I am so blessed to have wonderful friends. My close ones are like sisters to me. Erica is one of them. We have known each other since we were 13. We have seen each other through so much. With much joy I am happy to announce that Erica and her husband's first child was born last night.
A beautiful little boy named Aiden.
(Sorry these are camera phone pictures.)
I am so excited for them and I wish I was in Georgia to celebrate with them!  God is so amazing. He creates life and it is beautiful! Please join me in praying for this beautiful little boy and his parents as they take on new roles and he grows.
" Every good and perfect gift is from above" James 1:17
Congrats you two! Aunt Whit-Whit can not wait to meet little Aiden in June!

Nursing School...

Did you know yesterday was National Nurses Day? It is hard to believe one year ago today I was pinned at the University of Mobile. I felt like I would never finish nursing school. There were many sleepless nights studying and doing clinical paperwork. I am so happy that stayed with it though many times I wanted to quit. More than once wondered why couldn't I have chosen an easier major and enjoyed my last 2 years at college not secluded in my room with a book. Looking back I am proud of what I have accomplished, it was worth the hard work. It was a long 2 years but it shaped my life in many ways. I miss the friends I made in nursing school and I hope they are all doing well. I am thankful for nursing school not just for the education I gained but the growth I had during it. Honestly if I had to do it again, looking back a year later, I would.

Progress...

You didn't think I would just leave you with that one terrible picture of all the boxes in our office/craft room did you? We have really made some progress in that room as you can see by the pictures below. Granted there are still few boxes left to unpack but they are simple out of the way on the back wall or in the room's huge walk in closet.

(Our progress at least in this room)

(The office side of our room)
I had to get a little order somewhere it was driving me nuts. There is honestly nothing worse than coming home from a long day at work to a messy home. Does anybody else feel that way? It is not a relaxing environment just a sour reminder of all thing things you have to do while you are not at work. However, even though it drives us nuts why is it that it take a boatload of motivation for us to tackle these tasks? I am I the only one out here who feels this way?? It seems like even though I hate the current condition of our home I am so tired on my days off I don't want to work at unpacking and cleaning the house too. I am just being honest here. So as the post is rightfully labeled we are making progress but we still have a ways to go. The good thing is I can use my blog as accountability, (thanks to the nester for this idea) to show you the progress we are making in turning our apartment in to a warm inviting relaxing home. It may take awhile with my scattered work schedule but it will be done. I will say this craft side of our extra room has been my escape.

(Our old kitchen table became my sewing table)
I have found such a joy in teaching myself how to sew. I would love to show you some pictures of my completed projects but they are gifts and have not been received yet so when they are I will display them on here. My new sewing project is a valance and pillow covers for our living room. I have changed our living room colors to from red, tans, and brown to brown, tans, and a pretty robins egg blue. I love red, do not get me wrong, but we have a lot of red in our house. Our bedroom and master bath are filled with red. I just wanted to brighten up the living room and wanted something a little different. It was time for a change my last 2 years at college and in our old apartment red has been the overwhelming accent color in my living room areas, so I welcome the change to blue.

(Do you like it?)
Well, I am off to make some small progress in our kitchen so I can whip up some broccoli casserole for community group tonight. Have a great night y'all!

Unpacking...

Hey Y'all, we finally have internet in our new place so I am back. I must say I have missed blogging. We are trying to settle in meaning we are still in the unpacking process.( The picture is of our office/craft room the day we moved in thankfully it no longer looks like that). To me unpacking is worse than packing and with both of us working full time there is still a lot to be done! I love our apartment though it has so much more space. I am still trying to get back in the swing of things from when we went out of town to Georgia. The day after we got back in town we moved and then we both went back to work. Needless to say it has been a little hectic. However, I finally feel like this week, life is starting to normalize again. I hope you guys are having a GREAT week so far!
