Progress...

You didn't think I would just leave you with that one terrible picture of all the boxes in our office/craft room did you? We have really made some progress in that room as you can see by the pictures below. Granted there are still few boxes left to unpack but they are simple out of the way on the back wall or in the room's huge walk in closet.

(Our progress at least in this room)

(The office side of our room)
I had to get a little order somewhere it was driving me nuts. There is honestly nothing worse than coming home from a long day at work to a messy home. Does anybody else feel that way? It is not a relaxing environment just a sour reminder of all thing things you have to do while you are not at work. However, even though it drives us nuts why is it that it take a boatload of motivation for us to tackle these tasks? I am I the only one out here who feels this way?? It seems like even though I hate the current condition of our home I am so tired on my days off I don't want to work at unpacking and cleaning the house too. I am just being honest here. So as the post is rightfully labeled we are making progress but we still have a ways to go. The good thing is I can use my blog as accountability, (thanks to the nester for this idea) to show you the progress we are making in turning our apartment in to a warm inviting relaxing home. It may take awhile with my scattered work schedule but it will be done. I will say this craft side of our extra room has been my escape.

(Our old kitchen table became my sewing table)
I have found such a joy in teaching myself how to sew. I would love to show you some pictures of my completed projects but they are gifts and have not been received yet so when they are I will display them on here. My new sewing project is a valance and pillow covers for our living room. I have changed our living room colors to from red, tans, and brown to brown, tans, and a pretty robins egg blue. I love red, do not get me wrong, but we have a lot of red in our house. Our bedroom and master bath are filled with red. I just wanted to brighten up the living room and wanted something a little different. It was time for a change my last 2 years at college and in our old apartment red has been the overwhelming accent color in my living room areas, so I welcome the change to blue.

(Do you like it?)
Well, I am off to make some small progress in our kitchen so I can whip up some broccoli casserole for community group tonight. Have a great night y'all!

  1. I know how you feel when we had to pack up everything in our house to have it moved from one place to another then to unpack. It took so much to get motivated but I hated coming home to a messy house. the room is looking good and congrats on the bigger place.
